Lost Your Certificate or Need a Duplicate?
For a small fee you can receive a duplicate copy of your current certificate. Just click on the link for the form.
Plant Maintenance Grade IV Split into Electrical/Instrumentation Grade IV and Mechanical Technologist Grade IV
Beginning January 2007 the single management level Plant Maintenance Grade IV will be replaced by two separate specialty certifications: Mechanical Technologist Grade IV and Electrical/Instrumentation Grade IV.

How to Become Certified in Your Wastewater Vocation
To become certified, you must qualify with the required education and experience and then pass a written test. Tests are given on the fourth Saturday in January and July. You must apply 3 months before the test date. CWEA offers candidate handbooks, study guides, and study sessions to help you pass your exam. Certification Examiner Newsletter
The Certification Examiner is a newsletter for CWEA certificate holders, applicants, and employers. Quarterly issues feature the latest certification news and announcements, training and contact hours info, test taking tips. Issues are either emailed or mailed to all certificate holders and applicants.
Code of Ethics
The certification Code of Ethics has been revised. Those renewing January and July 2006 do not need to sign the Code to renew.  
Information For Current Certificate Holders
Make sure you don't lose your certification. Certificate holders are required to renew every year and re-certify, by completing at least 12 hours of training, every two years.
Wastewater Trainers & Educators
Add value to your training and educational events by offering contact hours that can be used by CWEA certificate holders to satisfy their recertification requirement.
Training Programs Pre-Approved for Continuing Education Requirement
Find all training programs that have been pre-approved for continuing education. If it's on the list for your vocation, then you can use the course to meet the continuing education requirement.

Special Announcements
  • July 26, 2008 exam application receipt letters will be mailed early-mid May. All applicants should also receive a confirmation letter by mid June, after applications have been reviewed by Local Section Chairs. Contact us immediately if you do not receive a confirmation letter.

Important Dates
Wednesday, April 30, 2008: Postmark deadline for submitting exam applications for the Saturday, July 26, 2008 exam: Last paper & pencil exam.
Friday, July 3, 2008: Last day to request for ADA accommodation.
Friday, July 3, 2008: Deadline to submit grade or exam site changes. Outstanding test fees are due. Must have postmark.
Saturday, July 26, 2008: TCP Exam from 9:00 AM to Noon (arrive at 8:30 AM to sign in)
Friday, August 1, 2008: Last day to submit exam cancellations/ postponements for the 07/26/08 exam.
Friday, September 6, 2008: All results letters mailed by this date.
Friday, September 19, 2008:  All certificate and blue wallet cards are mailed to those who passed the exam.
