Trainers and Event Planners
CWEA training and educational events sponsored
by local sections and committees do not need to be pre-approved
before contact hours are issued. However, we can
only accept those contact hours that are relevant

In-house
Trainers
If you are employed by a wastewater organization
to train its employees, then you are not required
to pre-approve the training events you, or a training
consultant, perform onsite. Although pre-approval
is not required, CWEA has final authority in determining
whether a training event is acceptable for its continuing
education requirement. Learn more about making sure
your training events will be accepted for CWEA contact

All
other trainers
Add value to your training and educational events
by awarding contact hours to CWEA certificate holders.
To recertify, all CWEA certificate holders must
participate in 12 contact hours of vocation-related
education/training every two years. CWEA requires
all private trainers, consultants, and other third
party trainers to have their educational programs
pre-approved before contact hours are accepted as
part of the recertification requirement for CWEA
certificate holders.
