| Junior Water Quality |
Knowing the impact children and students
have on the quality of our environment, CWEA supports
these key programs aimed at helping students learn about
the wastewater treatment process and industry:
- Stockholm
Junior Water Prize -a prestigious youth award for
water science research projects.
California's Joyce Chai was awarded the 2008
International Stockholm Junior Water Prize this
month. Her paper, “Modeling the Toxic Effects of Silver
Nanoparticles under Varying Environmental
Conditions”, will be published in the Fall
2008 issue of the
Wastewater Professional. Joyce is the first
Californian whose paper has ever taken first place
at the international level. Congratulations Joyce!
- Sewer
Science -a hands-on lab for high school students
about municipal wastewater treatment.
- CWEA's
Kirt Brooks Memorial Water Environment Scholarship Program -an annual scholarship
program for students studying the water environment
field.
