5/22 Collections Training
The SCVS Collections Committee will hold a training on "Creek and Waterway Protection and Spill Mitigation" in Foster City on May 22, 2012. The training will provide insight and strategies for spill response activities occurring in creeks and waterways. Attendees will receive 6 CEU's. WHAT'S NEW
State Award Winners Announced!
The CWEA Annual Conference was held in Sacramento on April 17-20th and the state awards were announced at the Awards Luncheon. Santa Clara Valley Section made a great showing! Congratulations go out to:
Catherine Allin, City of Millbrae, Public Education Person of the Year.
Don Cottier, SBSA, William D. Hatfield award.
Peter Fong, South Bayside System Authority, P3S Person of the Year.
Burlingame Wastewater Treatment Facility, Plant Safety Award (small 1-25 employees.)
South Bayside System Authority came in second for the large facility (76 or more employees) Plant Safety Award. Brian Chu of West Bay Sanitary District came in second for the Collections System Person of the Year.
Congratulations again to all the winners and nominees. And remember: its not too early to think about nominating someone in your organization for the 2012 awards. Nominations packets will be available in July.
