8/15/2014 - Updates

  • The SFBS September dinner meeting will be a joint meeting hosted by the Redwood Empire Section and will be held on Septebmer 4, 2014 at Salito's Crab House & Prime Rib in Sausalito. Brooke Halsey, Tiburon Salmon Institute (TSI) Executive Director, will be presenting on working with educators, scientists, and conservationists in raising, protecting, and enhancing salmon and their habitat here in the San Francisco Bay Area. A tour of the Tiburon Salmon Institute will take place before the dinner meeting.   • Award season is here. Nominations for local San Francisco Bay Section awards are now being accepted. Topics include: New TV and other Sewer inspection technologies; Operator challenges and how to overcome them; Large Diameter TV inspection; Cloud-based technology for inspection services; TV inspections from an Engineer's viewpoint; Safety solutions for CCTV and Inspection Operators.   • The SFBS and Santa Clara Valley Section will be hosting a full-day seminar on Energy Saving Incentives for Wastewater Treatment Plants on July 17, 2014 from 8:00am to 3:00pm at the Hiller Aviation Museum, 601 Skyway Road, in San Carlos. Aeration and the production of air continues to account for the majority of electricity costs at wastewater facilities. Learn how energy efficient technologies can help control energy consumption.
