Awards Dinner
Pats on the Back to . . . All of
Us
Winter and Spring seasons are the time for the San Francisco Bay
Section to recognize the time and effort put forth of all its
members throughout the past year. We do so by our Annual Awards
program, by installation of new officers and recognition of our
committee members. The past year has seen much achievement for the
SFBS and a heartfelt thank you goes to each and every person that
continues to make our Section a success.
Safety Program of the Year
The San Francisco Bay Section celebrated the Year 2000 in January
with our annual Safety Committee-sponsored dinner meeting and award
presentation. Oro Loma Sanitary District was presented with
the San Francisco Bay Section’s Annual Safety Award. It was
obvious from their application and the subsequent plant tour that
they consider safety a most important issue and take great pride in
their safety program. Congratulations to Oro Loma and keep up the
good work!
Bay Section Award Winners
We celebrated further in February with our annual Awards and Officer
Installation Banquet. We say a fond farewell and big thank you to Grace
Chow, our outgoing Past President. We also welcome Sandeep
Karkal, our longtime Secretary-Treasurer, into his new position
of Second-Year Director. Our newest member to the Board is Edith
Hadler, who comes in as our Secretary-Treasurer.
We had great nominations for this year’s San Francisco Bay
Section Awards and thank all the applicants for their time and
effort in putting together their applications. Congratulations go to
this year’s award recipients. We wish them good luck at the Annual
Conference.
