2025 Pretreatment, Pollution Prevention, and Stormwater Committee (P3S) Conference, Hayes Mansion San José
We are looking for some enthusiastic volunteers for the Feb. 3-5 conference! Volunteer opportunities available include: opening session lead; tour lead; session leads; Signature Event lead; FOG workshop leads; lab workshop lead; and more. If you are interested in serving in one or more of the areas below, please contact P3S leaders Michael Placencia and Shannon Simmers as soon as possible. Your volunteerism is greatly appreciated!
CWEA Committees
Collection Systems Committee
The mighty CWEA Collection Systems Committee is recruiting for a Secretary from the North. This is an exciting opportunity to lead at the statewide level. Members can apply to current CSC Chair Jerry Barajas.
Kirt Brooks Scholarship Committee
Lead the Committee the selects scholarship recipients, allocates funding, and helps fundraise to increase the amount of the fund. The time commitment is approximately 2-3 planning calls per year, approximately 5-6 hours per year of volunteer work. CWEA staff member Megan Barillo serves as the committee liaison.
Students and Young Professionals:
Website Coordinator
Help the SYP Committee manage their new community website and join the SYP leadership group. Requires an hour or two per month. Training provided.
Secretary
Prepare and distribute the minutes of all meetings in a timely manner. Keep historical and current records of Committee.
Treasurer
Coordinate the timely submittal of a Committee budget to the Association Treasurer and interface with the Association Treasurer regarding check requests and expense reports for committee expenses. Track Committee income and expenses and provide quarterly budget reports to the Committee.
Education Committee Representative
Work closely with the Education Committee to support the goals of CWEA; Assist in developing educational programs and tools that will
enhance the efforts of the Education Committee
Conference Committee Representative
Work closely with the Annual Conference Committee to support the goals of CWEA; Assist in developing educational programs and networking events and tools that will enhance the efforts of the Conference Committee
WEF SYP Representative
JEDI Openers, Story Editors Work Group
Help support CWEA members discussing and learning about important diversity, equity and inclusion topics. Find members who would like to share their stories, coordinate writers, and work with staff to develop new JEDI Openers.
