Test Site Admission and Exam Information

Applicants are required to show at least one current, valid, government-issued photo identification, such as a state driver’s license or ID, or passport. A temporary license is acceptable if there is an expiration date, or if it is accompanied by paperwork explaining an expiration date.

Candidates have three (3) hours to complete the exam.

Formula sheets are available in the Candidate Handbooks and onscreen during the exam.

Approved Calculators

An onscreen calculator with basic and scientific capability is available on all CWEA exams. Applicants may bring a handheld calculator as long as it is from the CWEA approved calculator list:

Casio All FX-115 models (any Casio calculator with FX-115 in its name)
Texas Instruments All TI-30x and TI-36x models
Sharp EL models except EL-W516B and EL-W535B
OnVUE

OnVUE online proctoring allows you to take your certification exam securely from your home or office. With just a simple check-in process, involving ID verification, face-matching technology, and a live greeter, you can test without leaving the comfort of home.

Here’s what you can expect when you take your online proctored exam:
  • You’ll take photos of your government-issued ID and your testing environment, as well as a headshot
  • Your photos will be reviewed and your exam will be queued up. Most candidates will start their exam within 15 minutes of their appointment time.
    • If your pictures don’t pass review, you’ll be joined by a greeter as soon as possible to help you troubleshoot.
  • You’ll be monitored by a VUE-certified proctor via webcam and microphone throughout your test to ensure the integrity and security of your exam experience.
  •  If testing online through OnVUE, an onscreen calculator and white board are provided, no physical calculators or scratch paper are allowed.
Taking a test through OnVUE? Here’s what you need to do in advance:
  • Make sure you have a functioning home computer with a webcam and strong internet connection
  • Run a system check to test the compatibility of the OnVUE application
  • Roommates or pets? Make sure your space is free from noise or distractions
  • Clear the room of any preparation materials or unauthorized items to avoid exam violations
