Severe winter rains could not keep members away from CWEA’s 51st annual Pretreatment, Pollution Prevention, and Stormwater Conference in Anaheim. During our February conference, drenching rains lasted throughout the week but couldn’t dampen the spirits of attendees.

Some of the highlights included an engaging opening session with keynote speakers Randy Korgan, a thirty-year Teamster and leader of the local organization, and Rob Thompson, the General Manager for OC San. The FOG Workshop was even more popular filling the room completely and uniting pretreatment and collection system professionals to help solve the sticky problem of FOG.

CWEA also held our first ever Enhanced Source Control Workshop. The planning efforts were led by Kristopher McGinnis, LACSD; Kevin Hardy, NWRI; and Steve Jepsen, Clean Water SoCal. The workshop was well received with over 100 members in attendance. Our thanks to Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts for sponsoring the government regulators at the conference.
