Ross Valley Sanitary District
Established on May 27, 1899 – Ross Valley Sanitary District (The District) is one of California’s oldest district’s with approximately 60% of the District’s collection system was installed prior to 1955. The District is located in Marin County and serves the towns of Fairfax, San Anselmo, Ross, Larkspur, Bon Air, Sleepy Hollow, Kentfield, Kent Woodlands, Oak Manor and Greenbrae. The District operates and maintains approximately 200 miles of collection sewer lines and 19 pumping stations which collect, pump, and transport approximately four million gallons of wastewater per day to Central Marin Sanitation Agency for treatment. The District’s mission is to provide our customers with high quality wastewater collection service, through a system that has no avoidable sanitary sewer overflows, at the lowest sustainable cost, in order to protect public health and the environment.
Purpose
The Collection System of the Year award is given in recognition of outstanding maintenance programs, regulatory compliance and safety & training procedures.
Awards are given in three categories: Small, Medium and Large.
