Truckee Sanitary District

Truckee Sanitary District (TSD) is the public agency responsible for the collection of wastewater in the greater Truckee area. Formed in 1906, TSD’s mission is to protect the public health and environment while providing its customers the highest level of service consistent with the prudent management of public funds. Located near Lake Tahoe, in mountainous terrain at 6,000 feet, TSD has many unique challenges: over 250 inches of annual snowfall, 44 lift stations, a tourist population that swells during weekends and holidays. TSD staff have consistently met these challenges head-on and are proud of their track record of outstanding performance, safety, and fiscal responsibility.
