CWEA and the the California-Nevada Section of AWWA are proud to partner on the new Advanced Water Treatment Operator certification program. Drinking water and wastewater operators who hold a grade 3 certification or higher and work at facilities using advanced treatment technologies are eligible to pursue the new, voluntary Advanced Water Treatment Operator (AWTO®) Certification.

This past year, leaders from CWEA and CA-NV AWWA have travelled the state recognizing and honoring California’s Advanced Water Treatment Champions. These agencies are leading the nation by developing cutting edge, advanced reuse projects. In addition, their operators are pursuing and obtaining the AWTO certification, so they’re trained, certified, and ready to go when the new facilities start-up.

This truly is a “One Water” hall of fame. Congratulations to these outstanding agencies and operators. Learn more and get certified at awtoperator.org.
