The Los Angeles Basin Section (LABS) of CWEA would like to congratulate Adel Hagekhalil on being selected as the next General Manager of Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (MWD).
In his 30+ year career with the City of Los Angeles, he has long been a champion of recycled water as a valuable and viable water resource, advocated for stormwater capture for both pollutant reduction and for groundwater replenishment, and was successful in the integration of all water sources in Los Angeles as One Water.
He believed in the engagement of stakeholders through all phases of projects large and small and was integral to the development of staff to promote this visionary path forward.
Lastly, Adel has long been a supporter of CWEA and the vision of the association. LABS wishes Adel the very best of fortunes in his new endeavor.
We know his leadership at MWD will mean great things for water resources in Southern California for years to come.
