CWEA’s Student & Young Professionals Committee is thrilled to kick off the new SYP Local Engagement Subcommittee. To help get the innovative group off the ground, each local section needs to designate a representative.

Purpose:

Invest in in-person SYP involvement and events at the local level.

Objectives to support subcommittee purpose:

Designate responsibility for local SYP chapter growth and celebrate local section achievements

• Maintain a bi-annually updated roster of local section SYP designated representatives
• Discuss local section achievements at each meeting and consider recognition at the annual conference or CWEA publications

Promote local SYP activities, networking opportunities, and events

• Connect local SYP chapters with CWEA funding and resources
• Broadcast events to the greater CWEA audience

Introduce new young professionals to the CWEA organization with diverse trade backgrounds

• Increase awareness of CWEA at operator trade schools
• Increase awareness of CWEA at community and four-year engineering colleges
• Connect with existing CWEA/WEF student chapters or initiate new student chapters
